The sweetest three-day event of autumn seson was completed with great success! Patras Dolce Festival 2025 filled the Agora Argyri venue with flavors, aromas, and creativity through seminars, cooking shows, children’s activities, and, of course, the Greek qualifying round of the Sustainable Scoops competition.
Papageorgiou had a distinguished presence at the festival, with the participation of pastry chef Nicholas Galanakis, head of the company’s R&D Department, who won the Local Flavors Award with his gelato creation “Achaia Noir”, based on products from the Italian Unigel. A creation that combines tentura liqueur, Mavrodaphne wine, honey, and aromatic spices, highlighting the richness of the Achaean land in every spoonful. His contribution highlighted the role of innovation in creating products that combine quality, taste, and environmental responsibility.
Through the European project Gelato on the Road, which involves 12 countries and is implemented in Greece by AHEPAN – the Development Company of the Chamber of Achaia, Patras was placed at the center of the international gastronomic scene this September. Local products such as raisins, citrus fruits, Mavrodaphne wine, tentura liqueur, and Greek dairy products became sources of inspiration, leading to the creation of new gelato flavors with a strong Greek identity.
Our participation in the festival confirms Papageorgiou Foods SA’s commitment to support industry professionals with excellent-quality ingredients that highlight gastronomy and sustainability. Through initiatives like this, the company also contributes to the development of a new gastronomic tourism destination that will promote our region internationally.
